How We Work
Our C1 Racing Tyre Shaving Service is £30 per tyre, here’s how the process works:
-
You Order the Tyres
Place your order directly with Nankang and pay for the tyres as usual. -
We Handle Collection
Once your order is confirmed, we arrange collection of the unshaved tyres directly from Nankang UK. No extra work on your end – just let us know once the order is placed. -
We Shave with Precision
Your tyres are shaved using our proprietary MVPS method, with the profile you’ve selected. Every cut is measured, consistent, and designed for racing performance. -
We Deliver to You
Finished tyres are shipped to your UK mainland address, ready to mount and race.
Why Shave Your Tyres?
In the heat of racing, unshaved road tyres can cause excessive heat squirm, unpredictable handling, and uneven wear – especially in long stints. By carefully engineering the tread profile, we reduce these issues to deliver a more consistent, balanced, and race-ready tyre.
Our Methodology
We don’t just shave tyres – we engineer them. Our proprietary Multi-Variable Profile Shaving (MVPS) technique allows us to fine tune tread depth and profile curvature to deliver precision results tailored to the demands of the C1 Racing Club and Scottish C1 Cup. This data-driven approach means we create tyres that handle better, last longer, and perform consistently lap after lap.
Profile Options:
Choose from four precision-engineered profiles, each crafted for a specific scenario:
- Cambered Profile (5mm-2.5mm) – Engineered to imitate axle camber, typically used on the front to enhance turn-in feel. These tyres deliver outstanding front-end grip while maintaining stability and durability, making them the ultimate choice for maximizing cornering precision.
- Radial Profile (3mm) – A more all-round balanced tyre that combines durability with predictable handling, radial tyres are typically used on the rear, or all around for less experienced drivers. Perfect for all-round use.
- Radial Profile (2mm – Quali) – As low as you’d go for a shaved tyre – essentially “quali and bin.” Designed to maximize the contact patch for the ultimate grip in qualifying, but not built for long stints.
